Your neighbours at Finca Palmera – a rolling, rural retreat in the middle of Mallorca – will be a trio of fortunate rescue horses who’ve moved in to cruise through their retirement. As well as the stables and paddocks, the expansive estate spans olive groves, citrus orchards and an organic garden, the fruits (and herbs and vegetables) of which guests will have hand-picked for them every day. There are even some busy bees crafting delicious honey for your enjoyment. The owner is an interior designer who dabbles in creating furniture – which will be obvious the minute you step into this dreamy mix of natural materials, industrial concrete floors, pops of colour and Moroccan-inspired accessories.

  • The villa has five double bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom.
  • Design details include handcrafted headboards and furniture.
  • The 22sq m master bedroom has a sofa bed, ensuite bathroom with a tub, walk-in shower and twin sinks. This room sleeps four.
  • The other four 11–16sq m rooms each have a walk-in shower in the ensuite bathroom.

  • The drive to and from the airport should take around 40 minutes.
  • Some of the best beaches on the island are within a 25-minute drive of the property; don’t miss Playa de Muro and Son Serra de Marina.
