Perched upon a remote Icelandic inlet, Hafrahlíð offers front-row seats to Westfjord’s surreal planes, where carpets of emerald flora cloak miles of hillside and mist curls at the point where black sand meets the sea. If Nordic Noir springs to mind, you’re on the right track – and this distinguished open-plan dwelling has all the hallmarks of that sultry, Scandi style. Inside, you’ll find four ensuite bedrooms and (at least) 50 shades of grey; smoky slate floors, soft dove-grey furnishings, a suspended charcoal hearth and a neat taupe kitchen to name a few. And in the spirit of fire and ice, the wraparound deck is equipped with a sea-facing hot tub and ice bath combo for thermal thrills with a rapturous view.
