Charles Cave is a musician and writer from London. For the last 10 years he has toured the world many times over as a member of the band White Lies. During that time he's seen every imaginable kind of hotel, from brothel-ish motels in Beijing, to idyllic beach retreats in Byron Bay (and a place in Skopje that made Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz). The day job suits Charles well as he's always been an avid traveller, even taking a month to tour Tibet with his Dad, staying in monasteries, abandoned hotels, and guesthouses at the foot of Everest. Though equally content writing from his North London home, Charles is always keen to take a boutique hotel for a spin.
