Classic Room

Around 20sq m in size, these rooms have fabulous Florentine views king-size beds (or twins, on request) and are located in both the main villa and the Villa Eugenia in the park. Each room is packed with original features (for example, 19th-century parquet flooring), antiques and artworks. Decor varies: on the second floor of the main building, expect ornate rose patterns; other rooms have Oriental touches and evoke Forties Americana look or 19th-century bourgeois style. All have plasma TVs and minibars with local delicacies. Bathrooms are lined in white marble – and have either a shower or a bath. Bath products are bespoke, prepared by Santa Maria Novella.

Deluxe Room

These elegantly dressed rooms (25sq m) overlook the hotel’s manicured park and the green hills surrounding the city (some have private balconies). Each room is unique, with decor inspired by the villa’s famed former guests (the Japanese emperor, Napoleon III’s wife Princess Eugenia…), with Oriental influences and touches of Forties-style Americana. Rooms on the third floor have a Moorish look, with wooden floors and bright colours. Each space has a double bed or twins, a plasma TV with satellite channels and high-speed WiFi. Bathrooms are lined in white marble, and have a bath tub or stand-alone shower and rose-scented bath products from Annick Goutal. There’s also air-conditioning and a well-stocked minibar.

These 40sq m suites are housed in the main villa and have views over the gardens or Florence cityscape. The suite on the piano nobile (first floor) is the most historic, with a frescoed ceiling, parquet flooring and four-poster bed. Those on the second floor are bedecked with roses, and each has two plasma TVs, a vast canopy bed and a day-bed. There’s just one room on the fourth floor: a lavish Forties-style set of rooms, only accessible via elevator key, and decorated with violet velvet and hand-painted gold motifs, this room has large windows overlooking the garden. All Junior Suites have a king-size bed or twins, separate sitting area, flatscreen TVs, walk-in closets and minibars stocked with local treats. The marble bathrooms have a bath tub, shower or both, and bespoke Annick Goutal products.

Duplex

Located on the piano nobile (first floor), this 75sq m room make use of the high frescoed ceilings by including a raised level with a twin bedroom and work area reached by a spiral staircase. The main bedroom downstairs has a beautiful king-size four-poster and a sitting room. The Duplex has flatscreen TVs, a minibar of local treats and two marble bathrooms with bath tubs and showers, and bespoke Annick Goutal products.

Superior

Sweeping views of Florence and its green surrounds can be spied from these rooms – some have private balconies, too. These richly hued 22 sq m rooms are individually decorated, some with the hotel’s signature rose prints, some with ornate Moorish detailing. Each has a marble-lined ensuite bathroom with a shower, and rooms have a TV, WiFi, minibar, tea- and coffee-making facilities, free bottled water and a desk.
