Need to know
Rooms
Six suites.
Check–Out
11am, but flexible, subject to availability. Earliest check-in, 3pm.
More details
Rates include a Continental, European, Belizean or American-style breakfast, served in your suite or at the restaurant.
Also
The Oceanfront Terrace Suites on the ground floor are wheelchair accessible, with plenty of space to move around. There is an elevator in the villa, but not all the common areas are accessible, including the pool and beach. San Pedro itself is a challenging city for those with mobility concerns as sidewalks can be uneven and/or cobbled.
Please note
Influxes of sargassum, a floating seaweed with a strong odor, can hit the beaches on Ambergris Caye from June through September. The beaches are cleared daily, but it’s something to be aware of if you visit during these months.
At the hotel
Free WiFi throughout; bikes, kayaks and paddleboards to borrow; gym; dedicated concierge; golf carts to hire. In rooms: Bang & Olufsen TVs and sound systems air-conditioning, drip-coffee maker, tea-making kit, minibar with complimentary selection of sodas, free bottled water (still and sparkling), bathrobes and EcoLab bath products.
Our favourite rooms
All six suites at Villa Abrazos are heavenly, but the Oceanfront Terrace Suites win out thanks to their sea views and direct access to the pool.
Poolside
An arching pool stretches the width of Villa Abrazos, with plenty of space for every guest to swim laps without feeling crowded. But you’ll more likely want to ensconce yourself on one of the shaded loungers, spritz in hand, and enjoy the view.
Spa
Encompassing a steam room, treatment room and an ice bath, the spacious spa offers treatments using Icelandic Bioeffect products. The Belizean Sun Soother facial sounds like quite the skincare tonic after a hard day on the hammock. For self-care that ups the tempo, a gym is equipped with free weights, yoga equipment and cardio machines, and personal trainers can be arranged, on request.
Packing tips
Bring a hammock-worthy book, bug spray and a big appetite.
Also
Spa treatments are also available in your suite, if you prefer not to leave it.
Pet‐friendly
Villa Abrazos doesn’t allow pets on the property. See more pet-friendly hotels in San Pedro.
Children
It’s over-16s only, unless you reserve the whole villa for exclusive use. Extra beds and cots are available, as well as two smaller rooms suitable for nannies or children. And babysitting can be arranged for an additional charge.
Sustainability efforts
The kitchen at Villa Abrazos champions seasonal island ingredients, sourcing vegetables close to home and seafood fresh from local fishermen. Behind the scenes, rainwater is recycled, energy-saving air-conditioning and timed outdoor lighting help keep consumption in check, and refillable glass water bottles cut down on single-use plastic.
