At the hotel

24-hour fitness room, concierge, drinks stations, and free WiFi throughout. In rooms: smart TV, climate control, free refillable water bottle, hand-held steamer, automatic blackout shades, bathrobes, slippers and custom bath products.

Our favourite rooms

We love the Studio King with extra flopping space and the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river and Nashville Bridge. Although the hotel supplies sound machines and earplugs — it is downtown Nashville after all — higher floors are better if you’re sensitive to noise.

Packing tips

Music City sightseeing calls for an eye for historic landmarks and an ear for all kinds of musical genres. To look more Tennessee than tourist, pack your jeans and plaid shirts or rock tees, too.

Also

Every floor in the Noelle Nashville has The Nook, a free refreshment station with chilled sparkling or still water, plus a Nespresso coffee machine.

Pet‐friendly

Accompanying canines are very welcome at Noelle. Pet-friendly amenities include a dog bed and bowl, plus CBD dog treats are available for anxious travelers. A one-off cleaning fee of $100 applies with a limit of two pets to each room. See more pet-friendly hotels in Nashville.

Children

Little Smiths are more than welcome and babysitting can be arranged, but Noelle Nashville feels more of a grown-up place to stay.

Sustainability efforts

Noelle Nashville garners its sustainability credentials through energy-efficient lighting and sensors, water-saving systems, low-impact bath products and the elimination of single-use plastics. Ongoing community and environmental initiatives include donations to Room In The Inn and Second Harvest Foodbank. And Noelle’s restaurant spotlights vegan dishes and uses only cage-free eggs. And if you choose to forego daily housekeeping, you’ll earn on-property credit.

Food and Drink

Top Table

Choose a spot at the bar if you want a lesson at Lona on all things tequila (there are 85 varieties). Alternatively, for a cozier experience, settle in at a table against the far wall.

Dress Code

Casual city-ready attire by day, but for evenings at Rare Bird, Lona and Hidden Bar, sprinkle on a little extra sparkle.

Hotel restaurant

With five restaurants and bars all serving food, dining at Noelle Nashville comes with options. Culinary centerpiece Lona is a collaboration between Latin-American food pioneer Richard Sandoval and rising star Pablo Salas, who oversee elevated Mexican plates dished in a high-ceilinged, cantina-style space.

Hotel bar

Crowning the scene is Rare Bird, a lively rooftop bar-restaurant with spectacular panoramas of the Nashville skyline. A bit of cold needn’t put you off either, with a log-fire lounge and snug winter yurts. The mellower Trade Room is the lobby bar, where original marble and polished brass lean into the hotel's 1930s heritage: nightly whiskey tastings and a refined wine list add to the sense of old-school glamor. Only accessible through the Lona restaurant, the speakeasy-style Hidden Bar lives up to its name with snug crimson-lit nooks and illicitly good cocktails. And for the morning after, street-level Drug Store Coffee offers quality-bean brews, energy juices and grab-and-go bites.

Last orders

Kitchens close at 11pm at weekends and 10pm on week nights, while bars keep pouring until midnight or 1am.

Room service

There’s a pared-back menu for in-room dining, centered around American classics and available from 7am until late evening (10pm, or 11pm at weekends). In-room breakfasts include French toast and a signature bacon, eggs, biscuit and crispy potatoes.

United States

Noelle Nashville sits in the buzzy heart of downtown, two blocks from Broadway.

Planes

Nashville International is just a 15-minute drive from the hotel, with most cabs charging around $30 each way.

Trains

For local services, the commuter train stops at Riverfront Station, just half a mile from the hotel; unfortunately, there’s no Amtrak rail connection from here.

Automobiles

You won’t need your own wheels to explore Downtown Nashville, which is walkable, but for other neighborhoods and exploring beyond the city limits, a rental will prove useful. Noelle offers valet parking at $30 a day or $65 overnight.

Worth getting out of bed for

Step outside Noelle and you’re right in the thick of downtown Nashville, but far enough away from what some find the neon-lit buzz of Broadway. A five-minute walk, you’ll find honky-tonk-fueled revelry, where bars spill out live music from morning till late. Closerby, Printer’s Alley offers a mellower take on the city’s nightlife and a slice of what feels like Old Nashville. By day, if you’re looking to dig deeper into the city’s musical heritage, the Country Music Hall of Fame and The Ryman Auditorium are both an easy stroll away.

For local shopping, the indie boutiques around Fifth and Broadway are a good place to start, or head to Nashville Arcade — a historic arcade from the early 1900s packed with creative outlets and art galleries. When you need a breather, the Cumberland River walk provides a calmer counterpoint to the urban bustle, or to really unplug from the city, the hiking trails and wildlife of Radnor Lake State Park are just 20 minutes away by car.

Local restaurants

Ophelia's Pizza + Bar is just across the street for covetable crusts, alongside other classic Italian-American fare. Nashville institution Biscuit Love serves flaky buttermilk biscuits piled high with Southern comfort staples, from hot chicken and sausage gravy to sweet, sugar-dusted creations. Carnivores should make a beeline for Harper’s, a shrine to all things steak, from sirloin to New York strip; just don’t ask for ‘well done’.

Local bars

You won’t need to stray far for a taste of quintessential Nashville nightlife. Alley Taps is one such spot in nearby Printer’s Alley, an intimate basement bar with friendly bar staff and nightly live music. For a quieter drink, Red Phone Booth is speakeasy-style venue that dials up the vintage glamor with prohibition-era cocktails.

Anonymous review

Every hotel featured is visited personally by members of our team, given the Smith seal of approval, and then anonymously reviewed. As soon as our reviewers have returned from this art-deco hotel in Music City and unpacked their boot-shaped shot glasses and barbecue rub, a full account of their honky-tonk-tinged break will be with you. In the meantime, to whet your wanderlust, here's a quick peek inside Noelle Nashville…

Housed in a 1930s showpiece hotel that exuded luxury in its original heyday, this downtown landmark has returned to the Music City stage with swagger as Noelle Nashville. Tennessee marble, brass details and retro curves have been sharpened with contemporary design touches and a healthy dollop of Southern sass. Art is everywhere, telling the stories of dozens of Nashville’s lesser-known legends — the 20th-century musicians, movers and shakers, and local characters who shaped the city.

When it’s time to mingle, the hotel delivers, from lively rooftop cocktails at Rare Bird to late-night mischief tucked away in the Hidden Bar. Broadway’s honky-tonks are just two blocks away, but Noelle is the kind of place you’ll happily come back to — heels kicked off, nightcap in hand — content that your hotel has just as much charisma as the city outside.
