Accessed through a private entrance, these 400sq ft rooms are on the ground floor of the main house. Each room has a king-size bed and a private deck overlooking the hotel’s Japanese-style gardens. The ensuite bathroom has either a walk-in shower or an over-bath shower. There’s also free WiFi, a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee-making kit, and free bottled water.

Ryokan Zen Creekside Suite
This 650sq ft ryokan-inspired suite has a private patio and karesansui rock garden backing onto Calabazas Creek. There’s a king-size bed in the bedroom and a deep granite bath tub in the bathroom, along with a double shower and twin sinks. Additional Japanese touches include an organic green tea service, mochi ice cream, yukata robes and a bottle of sake.
