Some journeys begin with a boarding pass, others start with a photograph. Our debut photography exhibition, To Seek, To Find, began with the kernel of an idea, rooted in something that has always been an integral part of Mr & Mrs Smith: a curiosity about the world and the people who explore it in unexpected ways.
During Frieze Week, we unveiled To Seek, To Find, our debut photography exhibition created in partnership with Frieze. Presented at No.9 Cork Street in Mayfair and curated by renowned art advisor Brandei Estes, the exhibition brought together works by 10 photographers commissioned by Mr & Mrs Smith over the past two years. Through landscapes, architecture, portraits and intimate observations, the works explore the moments of discovery that define both travel and photography.
The exhibition’s private view welcomed artists, collectors, friends of the brand and members of the creative community. Against a backdrop of striking imagery from Martin Parr, Kalpesh Lathigra, Hannah Rose, Tina Barney and more, conversations moved from the photographers’ process to the art of hotel design, with guests reflecting on the stories that might exist within the photographs.
