Luxury holidays in Sundance

You might know Sundance for its namesake film festival, and that creative reputation certainly endures as artists flock to its bucolic setting in search of their next idea. But there's more to this small mountainside community, too: Utah’s in-the-know skiers bypass neighbouring Deer Valley for Mount Timpanogos’ perfectly powdered slopes; and come summer, its vast canyon setting makes an idyllic base for hiking, biking and horseback riding.

When to go

December to March brings the snowiest slopes. If you aren’t here to ski, September to October is a particularly scenic time of year, bringing balmier temperatures and fewer crowds.

Getting there

  • Planes

Salt Lake City International Airport is around a 90-minute drive away from Sundance. Or, if you’re flying from within the States, Provo is a closer 30-minute drive.
  • Automobiles

Sundance itself is walkable, but you’ll need a car if you’re planning on doing much else.
