When to go

Winters are typically snowy, and daytime temperatures tend to hover around 2°C; things start to warm up a bit by early March, and mild May is a pleasant time to see the city before crowds kick in. If you're planning on shopping, note that everything's closed on Sundays, year round.

Getting there

• Planes

• Trains

  Eurostar and TGV trains regularly pull into Zürich Main Station.

• Automobiles

  You won’t need a car to smoothly navigate the city, but if you’re arriving on your own set of wheels, paid public parking spaces can be found everywhere but pedestrianised Old Town.
