December to March is high season in Mazunte, with whale watching starred for January and February.

Getting there

    Your nearest international airports are both around a 75-minute drive away, in Puerto Escondido and Huatulco.

  • Automobiles

    Mazunte is easily navigated on foot and, although driving locally is straightforward, the route to Mazunte may involve mountain passes or questionable road quality on smaller highways, depending on where you’re starting from. Taxis and transfers are the more relaxing option.
