Luxury holidays in Lofoten

When to go

Summer brings longer days and warmer climes; September to March offers prime aurora viewing and from December to January, the sun takes its longest rest, never rising above the horizon.

Getting there

  • Planes

International flights land in Oslo; from there you’ll need to transfer to Svolvaer Airport in the eastern part of Lofoten or Leknes in the west. If you want to avoid flight connections, there are seasonal international routes to Harstad/Narvik airport, too.
  • Automobiles

Lofoten’s two airports both have car rental, and ferry links from the Continent to southern Norway mean that devoted European drivers can opt to take their own set of wheels.
