Maremma’s climate is typical of southern Italy: roasting in the summer months and chillier from October to March. Hit the beaches in September for maximum tanning time without the summer holiday crowds.

The closest airport is Pisa International (just over an hour’s drive away). Most major airlines run frequent flights here. Alternatively, fly to Rome Fiumicino Airport, which is just under two hours’ drive away.
Trains
Grosseto railway station is the area’s main hub; it’s linked to the north (Genoa and Turin) and to the south (Rome).
Automobiles
Hire a car at Pisa airport – you’ll find it’s invaluable for exploring this expansive region. Take the E80 south to reach Maremma.
