Luxury holidays in Cartagena

Now, Cartagena is a relaxed holiday city of cobbled streets, colourful colonial buildings and outdoor cafes exuding live music and well-heeled coffee drinkers. Stylish shops are filled with artisan handicrafts and emerald jewelry; restaurants serve a cosmopolitan blend of fresh seafood and international cuisines. There's plenty of culture when you're looking for it, but, for most locals and visitors, daytime life is relaxed and languid, while the cooler nighttime turns the city into one vibrant and beautiful party.

When to go

Only just north of the equator, Cartagena averages 28 degrees Celsius throughout the year, guaranteeing a warm and humid holiday no matter when you go. August to November, though, tend to be the steamiest, with October and November seeing the bulk of the area's rain.
