Luxury holidays in Santa Ynez Valley

Classic and cool, California’s Santa Ynez Valley is an emerging hub of world-class wining and up-and-coming dining. This winding patch of wine country is a connect the dots of six charming communities: Los Olivos, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, Solvang and Ballard are equally characterful and entirely distinct. Just like its laidback townsfolk, days in the Santa Ynez Valley take on a languorous quality: mosey from meal to meal, and wobble between wineries. And there’s a deep appreciation for the landscape that goes beyond the valley’s vineyards: formerly cowboy country, the spectacular terrain can be explored by hoof or foot.

When to go

Though temperatures are balmy in Santa Ynez Valley year-round, autumn marks the start of harvest season (grape-stomping, anyone?), and we like spring for its verdant views.
