The Guestbook

Perfect location for those who want to explore the more interesting parts of Berlin, i.e. the old East Berlin. Close to some great markets, Kollwitzplaz and interesting bars, restaurants and shops between Brunnenstrasse and Schonhauser Allee. Great hotel too: unbelievable walk-in showers, comfy spacious rooms, great rooftop poolbar area, decent food and drinks and very friendly helpful staff – until you try to take a photo of a Damien Hirst piece in the lobby, in which case be prepared to be admonished by Rosa Klebb. All in all, top-rate hotel and location with close links to a very German (i.e. efficient) public transport system. If you're from an expensive city – London, NY, Paris etc – you'll notice Berlin is a lot more friendly on the wallet.

Amazing hotel: the attention to detail and service are superb. As well as eating at the Soho House Club, we had three really good and very Berlin dinners at HBC, Cookies Cream and Katerschmaus. All well worth a visit, especially the last one (although the entry might not be quite what you'd expect).

My favourite hotel in Berlin by quite a long way – it has everything you could want in it, from fantastic food through to a buzzing lounge and bar. If, however, you do choose to venture a bit further afield then I strongly recommend Monsieur Vuong Indochina Caf for fantastic and great value Vietnamese food, or Felix for a great night out.

Wonderful stay. Perfect Friday evening sipping prosecco on the cosy sofa in front of an open fire. Great location, especially as we were there for the Long Night of Museums, when museums open from 6pm until 2am all over Berlin. Gorgeous room to come home to and a nice spa to recover from a late night on Sunday morning.

Fantastic stay at Soho House, the room was stunning and incredibly spacious, Turkish bath and all. Absolutely recommend going for lunch at Fischers Fritz nearby. With two Michelin stars and a very good-value lunch menu, it is an absolute must. Alternatively, if you are staying here during the Christmas period then the market at Alexanderplatz 10 minutes' walk away is great fun.

I don't even know where to begin. We loved Soho House. From the moment we walked in to the moment we sadly left, we loved it, and Berlin. Maria at reception gave us a warm welcome and was an expert at helping us with dinner arrangements. Our room was divine. I don't know which size room it was, but we had the walk-in rain shower with steam, and safe to say that after a long day of exploring Berlin, we found ourselves hanging out in that shower. The rooftop bar is a great way to get your first views of the city, and the food and drinks are very good. And the cowshed spa really hit the spot after days of exploring. Berlin itself was incredibly interesting and I'd go back there in a second. No doubt some of that appreciation is thanks to a great stay at Soho House.

FAB, FAB, FAB. Can't speak highly enough about Soho House Berlin, this hotel is near perfect in terms of service, facilities, comfort, food, drinks, atmosphere, rooms, the cool factor and location. We spent 3 nights here, arriving late the first night, the reception staff were unbelievably friendly. Food and drinks in the bar that night were just what we needed after our flight. Next day we hit the gym, fantastic facilities for a hotel gym, and the spa. The hammam with the steam room and sauna were amazing, just gorgeous. And then walked into the city, probably 15 mins if you don't get distracted by the cool boutiques. Drinks on the roof terrace before we went out on Saturday were lovely, not sure how they make a white wine spritzer so delicious, but it was divine. Much needed breakfast on Sunday again, fantastic. Watermelon juice and eggs Benedict can cure any hangover. We hung out on the roof terrace on Sunday evening, enjoying the buzz and the mix of local Soho House members and guests, a very cosmopolitan vibe. Details such as the Bloody Mary options on Sunday morning, the products in the bathrooms (all Cowshed), the soundproofing in the rooms both from the road outside and the corridor inside make this a very special hotel, and made our trip to Berlin very special. Friends of ours who overlapped with us by a couple of nights had moved out to one of Berlin's 5 business hotels, but returned to Soho House for their last night as they felt it was the best hotel they've ever stayed at. I have to agree.

Cool hotel, well placed in East Berlin, great good-sized room.

The steak tartare and schnitzel in the hotel were amazing. Check out Facil's lunch menu for something glam, or there is a great German named restaurant in the Sony centre (apologies, I don’t remember the name) that serves huge portions and fab jugs of beer!

The revolving restaurant at the top of the TV tower takes you back to when 1960's design seemed truly space age. The food is terrible, but you can just go for a beer or a coffee and it takes 30 minutes to revolve around the city once. We went after dark, for an hour, and it was an amazing experience.

Alpenstueck and Schneeweiss are to be recommended as modern German restaurants, but we also loved Henne. It only serves roast chicken and potato and/or cabbage salad. It used to be next to the Wall and there is a letter from JFK behind the bar, saying he was sorry not to have been able to go there when he visited in the 1960s.

We had a great time at Themroc, about 20 mins walk down Torstrasse from Soho House, where there is only one three course dinner on offer each night (for about 21 euros) and a great atmosphere.

About 30 minutes away (a nice walk passing cool shops, through streets with old trees and beautiful Kollwitz Square) you will find Weinstein, a wonderful winebar/restaurant. Very kind service, typical German food (but not the heavy stuff) a very interesting winelist and absolutely moderate prices make it a special place that we will certainly visit again. Be sure to reserve a table.
