Villa Margherita

Setting

Ravishing Ravello

Soaking up sun and Amalfi Coast views from its hidden-away hillside perch, Belmond Villa Margherita has old-world Italian elegance in spades. Daintily frescoed ceilings and brilliant-white walls are paired with Continental antiques and original artwork – each hand-selected by interior designer Eric Egan, from the Venetian sofa to the rare Matisse. Opulent Etro textiles, Paolo Moschino upholstery and Hermès throws take it to peak glamour. Outside, pretty private lawns and terraces are primed for chef-cooked meals with a side of sweeping sea views. With round-the-clock butler service, it would be tempting to stay tucked up indoors indefinitely. Venture out, though, and Belmond Hotel Caruso’s spa, cocktail bar and cliff-hugging restaurant are on your doorstep, and the muse-worthy town of Ravello, beloved by arty types from Richard Wagner to the Bloomsbury Group, is just a short walk away.
