Sóller may be mostly famous for its monarch-approved oranges, but Villa Comtessa is sure to also get a royal nod: this historic mountain-facing townhouse has been restored to retain all the best bits (the entrance hall, ironwork staircase, turn-of-the-century tiles, beamed ceilings) with some helpful modern additions (Netflix, induction hobs, under-floor heating). Hikers will love the local trails, which include walks to Fornalutx (officially one of the prettiest villages in Spain) or the three-hour old postman’s route all the way to dreamy Deià.
