Kalpesh Lathigra - Des Fleurs Sur Paris, 2026

Paris is a background character in Kalpesh Lathigra’s emotive image of flowers on the rooftop of La Fantaisie hotel, making it a very personal encounter with the city at this leafy 9th arrondissement stay. The original work was presented at Mr & Mrs Smith’s debut exhibition, To Seek, To Find, at Frieze London in October 2026. 

The exhibition’s curator, Brandei Estes, says: ‘Kalpesh’s understated compositions and sensitivity to colour, gesture and atmosphere resist the conventions of traditional travel photography.’ 

About the artist: Kalpesh Lathigra started in photojournalism, winning first place in the World Press Photo competition. Moving into documentary photography, his work has investigated indigenous histories and the legacy of immigration in projects such as Lost in the Wilderness (2015) and Mémoire Temporelle (2022).
