I was lucky enough to live here for a year, and it has everything you could ever want. Snow and skiing down south, white-sand beaches up the coast, jungles and waterfalls up north, and red-sand deserts in the centre. If you go once, you’ll want to go again and again.

I can’t begin to describe the beauty and charm of Namibia and its local people. Home to the world’s only desert-adapted elephant herd, endless sand dunes and clear starry nights, this is actually a really safe and serene destination.

If you’re looking for raw natural beauty, unbelievable landscapes, and the swirling hues of the northern lights, then no other country compares. Iceland is my number one recommendation for anyone wanting something sensational for a short holiday away.
