Rosie Conroy
Critic's choice
Rosie Conroy was brought up greedy, with family time centred around the dining table, discussing the merits of artisan producers and organic veg. While you might suspect an early obsession with all things food would have resulted in an obnoxious child, the real shocker is that she grew into an even more obnoxious adult, with an overly critical eye. The story has a happy ending, however, with her having put her palate to good use as a restaurant reviewer for years as Square Meal's Managing Editor, where she could finally feel validated in her strong opinions. She's now a freelance food and travel journalist who bases holidays on what and where she'd like to eat, happily indulging in beautiful hotel stays along the way.
