Hazel Sheffield is a writer and filmmaker based in London. She has written about brunching in Berlin for the Financial Times, Nashville's country music scene in for the Evening Standard and New Orleans on the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina for The Independent, among others. When Hazel's not travel writing, she runs a multimedia reporting project on local economies in the UK called Far Nearer. She loves getting off the well-trodden tourist trails and finding the hidden restaurants, galleries and shops (especially record shops) that tell real stories about a place and its people.
