Giles has been restaurant critic of Tatler and The Independent on Sunday, as well as a regular columnist for GQ, The Sunday Times, Mail on Sunday and Match of the Day magazine. In 2005 he published his first novel, Winkler, and won Food and Drink Writer of the Year at the British Press Awards. Since then he has spent more time doing television, co-presenting The F-Word with Gordon Ramsay, hosting Movie Lounge, Five's film show, and the C4 food history series The Supersizers Go... He has also made several documentaries for Channel 4 on such subjects as obesity, bio-technology and latter-day cannibalism, and is a regular restaurant critic and columnist at The Times.
