Address
Seda Residences Granada
Calle Lucena 1 Centro
Granada
18001
Spain

Seda Residences sits just off the Plaza de la Trinidad, a leafy square close to the cathedral and set in the centre of Granada.

Planes

Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport is your closest runway and is a 30-minute drive from the hotel. The hotel can arrange transfers for four passengers for €55 each way or €130 one-way for eight.

Trains

The closest train station is Granada’s main terminal, a 10-15 minute taxi ride away. As part of the national rail network, it’s well connected, with direct links to Valencia, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona and other major cities throughout Spain.

Automobiles

Granada isn’t the sort of city that lends itself to an easy driving experience, especially around the historic centre. If you’re arriving with your own wheels, however, there’s valet parking at the hotel for €30 a night.

Worth getting out of bed for

Peeking just around the corner from Seda Residences is the leafy Plaza de la Trinidad, one of Granada’s sedate, shaded squares and the perfect cortado-sipping spot in which to map out your day. A bang-in-the-centre location puts much of the city’s highlights within a few minutes’ meander. Start with the tick-off-the-list Catedral de Granada – a fabulous Renaissance edifice with dazzling ornamental gilding and soaring stained-glass dome. From here it’s a 15-minute stroll to Granada’s real showstopper, the mighty Moorish Alhambra, but be sure to book tickets in advance (the hotel concierge is poised for such purposes). Catch your breath afterwards in the more serene Carmen de los Mártires, a 19th-century estate tucked just above the Alhambra, sporting swoony tiered gardens, still ponds, and free-roaming peacocks. When you’re ready to return to the urban, take yourself on a walking tour of the open-air art gallery of the Realejo district, famed for its mural-emblazoned streets.

Local restaurants

Just a block away sits Betula Nana, serving inventive modern Andalusian cuisine that changes with the seasons — it’s a tiny restaurant with just a handful of tables, so book ahead. Also a croquette’s throw away is La Telefónica, which has earned quite the reputation for its top-notch tapas and stacks of sticky pork ribs. Another intimate affair, the blue-fronted Pimienta Rosa carefully crafts fresh-from-the-market ingredients into Iberian favourites with the occasional Levantine twist.

Local cafés

Coffee aficionados looking for a buzz should make a beeline for Despiertoo, a sleek coffee shop that not only serves beans from its own coffee farms in Guatemala, but also roasts them on site. Their pastries aren’t bad either.

Local bars

With surreal styling inspired by local poet Federico García Lorca, Sin Sentido’s off-the-wall energy attracts a fun-seeking crowd for drinks, DJ sessions and dancing downstairs. Slip into a leather banquette at Noir Craft Cocktail Bar, where low lighting, live music and expertly mixed libations combine for effortless late-night lingering., where low lighting, live music and expertly mixed libations combine for effortless late-night lingering.

Every hotel featured is visited personally by members of our team, given the Smith seal of approval, and then anonymously reviewed. As soon as our reviewers have returned from this luxe-apartment hotel in Andalucia and unpacked their flamenco fan and Fajalauza tile, a full account of their Moorish-tinged break will be with you. In the meantime, to whet your wanderlust, here's a quick peek inside Seda Residences Granada…

Named after the Spanish for ‘silk’, Seda Residences Granada offers those home comforts you might miss while away — space to spread, a sofa to flop, somewhere to whip up a meal — and wraps them in rolls of seamless service. Set just steps from the super-central Plaza de la Trinidad, these smartly turned-out pads are tailor-made for city breaks, too. Attraction-abundant Granada unfolds effortlessly on foot, with its flamboyant cathedral, bounty of buzzy tapas bars and the mighty Alhambra all within an easy stroll of your base.

On your return, you can slide up to the top-floor terrace for golden hour and dazzling cityscape panoramas, or wander to nearby sister hotel, Seda Club, for a soothing spa session. For a soft landing in this marvellously Moorish city, this apartment-hotel is expertly cut to suit a more flexible style of stay. And in a city where every street reveals another treasure, Seda Residences fits like a (silk) glove.
