Spa Pendry sprawls over 19,000 square feet, with 12 flower-named treatment rooms, rainfall showers, eucalyptus steam rooms, and cedar saunas to unwind in. Additional spaces include a halotherapy salt room, a nature-view terrace and an adults-only indoor plunge pool. You can also indulge in Himalayan salt therapies or DIY mud treatments that use custom Red Flower blends, made from herbs grown right on the estate. Upstairs, a round-the-clock fitness center features Technogym equipment and Peloton bikes — or swap the treadmill for scenic walking and running trails around your 500-acre grounds.

Pet‐friendly

Pendry Natirar breathes new life into its historic 1912 mansion with sustainable design and a deep respect for its 500-acre estate. The resort’s Natirar Farm practices regenerative agriculture, supplying fresh ingredients to its restaurants and wellness centre in true farm-to-table — and even farm-to-spa — fashion. Single-use plastics are out, composting is in, and nature thrives as part of the guest experience, including beekeeping activities at the on-site apiary.

Linen and loafers work well at Ladd’s Tavern and the Great Room, while dinner at Ninety Acres calls for something a touch sharper (tailored jackets and dresses, say).

Hotel restaurant

Dining at Pendry Natirar is as fresh and farm-driven as the views outside. The headline act is Ninety Acres, the celebrated carriage-house restaurant that put this estate on New Jersey’s culinary map, where head chef Peter Rudolph crafts seasonal menus straight from the fields  — think honey-nut squash with farm-popped popcorn, Griggstown chicken with local beans and escarole, and the unmissable butterscotch-pretzel sundae.  

Across the road in the mansion, Ladd’s Tavern brings a more relaxed mood with its modern-British flavors. In the heart of the hotel, The Great Room is the social soul of the house — part lounge, part salon — serving afternoon tea, caviar and crudités, or comfort classics like truffle fries and the ‘Mansion Burger’ within its fire-warmed, wood paneled walls.

At Ninety Acres, the cocktail list reads like a love letter to the land — the ‘Farm Fresh Gimlet’ mixes cucumber juice and basil for a garden-bright sip, while the ‘Back Nine’ nods to bourbon and black tea in a quietly clever twist on a classic. The wine list impresses, too, ranging from Long Island Brut to French Chablis and boutique Napa reds hand-picked by the sommelier. Over in The Great Room, things take a more lounge-like turn — martinis, margaritas and Old Fashioneds are expertly executed, but the showstopper is the ‘Caviar Martini’, an indulgent pour crowned with Siberian caviar.

Breakfast at Ladd’s Tavern is 7am–11am (brunch at weekends, 10am–2pm); lunch is 11.30am–2pm and dinner 5pm–10pm (Friday to Tuesday). Dinner at Ninety Aces is 5pm–10.30pm, Wednesday to Thursday (till 11.30pm, Friday to Saturday, and 4pm–10pm on Sundays).

Overlooking the scenic Raritan River, Pendry Natirar sits on a 500-acre estate in Somerset County, about an hour west of Manhattan in New Jersey.

Planes

The nearest airport is Newark Liberty International, around 35 minutes away by car — a smooth ride the hotel can help arrange.

Trains

The nearest train stop is Peapack-Gladstone Station, a five-minute drive from the hotel; it’s served by NJ Transit with direct connections to New York City.

Automobiles

A car comes in handy for exploring Somerset County’s charming towns, trails and wineries — and New York City is less than 90 minutes away. Valet parking is available at Pendry Natirar for $20 a day ($60 overnight). There are also on-site Cadillacs, that are free to borrow for up to four hours.

Worth getting out of bed for

Pendry Natirar is an all-seasons playground for Somserset County pursuits. Start your day at Compass Sports, the on-site outfitter in The Village, where guides can kit you out with e-bikes, hiking maps, or gear for fly fishing, archery and axe throwing. Trails wind through Natirar Park, following the Raritan River and into the surrounding forests — or you can head a little further afield to Hacklebarney State Park, with over 400 acres of leafy trails and waterfalls to explore. Down by The Farm at Natirar, guests can meet the resident sheep and free-range chickens on a barnyard tour, or pop past the working apiary to learn the art of beekeeping and sample honey straight from the hive. Tennis courts sit beside the farm, perfect for a rally with a view, while golfers enjoy exclusive access to nearby courses such as Fox Hollow, Neshanic Valley, and Royce Brook — plus the USGA Golf Museum and its St Andrews–inspired putting course just minutes away. Over at the resort’s Cooking School, local chefs host hands-on classes using just-picked produce from the fields.  

A short drive from the resort, Chester Riding Club offers horseback lessons for all levels, and the area’s charming cideries and farm towns — including Peapack and Gladstone — make for an easy, scenic day out. Whether you’re foraging, painting the hills in a watercolor workshop, or toasting with a glass of local cider, there’s little need to stray far from the estate’s grounds. 

Local restaurants

You’ll mostly be eating across the estate’s restaurants, but if you venture beyond the gates, Chester’s charming Main Street awaits just 10 minutes away. Try The Publick House for hearty American classics, Pren Kitchen for seasonal plates with a modern twist, or Domo 7 for fresh sushi, sizzling hibachi and other authentic Japanese dishes. 

Local cafés

For a caffeine fix beyond the estate, make for Fair Mountain Coffee Roasters in nearby Gladstone, where organic, fair-trade beans are roasted on-site. Just down the road, Gladstone Market is part gourmet grocer, part brunch spot, and the kind of place you’ll want to linger over a flat white and a flaky pastry by the creek.  

Local bars

Raise a glass to the local craft scene with a visit to Burnt Mills Cider Company, where Somerset’s cider-making heritage still shines; or Long Valley Pub & Brewery, a welcoming tavern known for its house-brewed ales and countryside charm.
