Our favourite rooms
The standalone villas at Our Habitas Ras Abrouq take interior cues from their pristine surroundings: sandy shades, artisan-made artwork and bold textiles nod to typical Doha design. In a seafront Al Maha Villa, the beach is an extension of your private bohemian terrace, and you can alternate between salty dips and those in your own pool. The Lula Royal Villa is a sprawling pad with four bedrooms, a large pool terrace, and is set steps from the shore.
Poolside
The main infinity pool is a long, turquoise runway that unfurls down to the sea; its colour changes at sunset when the terrace is washed in a golden glow. It’s a desert-set watering hole, where sunbathers and shade-seekers gather on made-for-two day-beds or by the poolside bar. There’s a second smaller pool at the top end, but each villa has its own one for more secluded heat-beating dips.
Spa
The spa nods to its sandy surroundings with its gold and camel-hued palette, and Qatar-nodding wellness offerings. Ancient remedies are paired with local ingredients in soothing therapies such as a pink-clay ritual, Arabian aloe massage or za’atar and black-lemon body scrub. Afterwards, retreat to the indoor steam room or sauna; you’ll also find an outdoor sauna-cabin near the pool-toting terrace.
Packing tips
A tome-like novel and pack of dog-eared cards as all villas (except the Lula Royal) are screen-free.
Also
The state-of-the-art gym is decked out with Technogym kit and looks out to the water through floor-to-ceiling windows; or drop the tempo with an alfresco yoga or sound healing session.
Children
Welcome. The multi-bedroom villas are best for families, and free baby cots can be added to all villas on request.
Sustainability efforts
Our Habitas hotels champion sustainable design, eschew single-use plastic, offset their carbon emissions, recycle and compost waste, and minimise light pollution with candles and fire pits in outdoor areas. At this Ras Abrouq resort, tent-style canopies cool the buildings naturally and electric golf buggies will whizz you to your villa.
