Also
Both the Greenhouse and Spyglass have accessible options, each with wheelchair-friendly access and adapted bathrooms for guests with limited mobility. Onera's communal areas are also fully accessible.
At the hotel
Communal area with a hot tub, swimming pool and stargazing deck; private one-mile walking trail, and free WiFi throughout. In suites: fully equipped kitchenette, climate control, Nespresso coffee machine, tea-making kit, free bottled water and Public Goods bath products.
Our favourite rooms
The Greenhouse suites are the more spacious of the two, with wraparound terraces, private hot tubs and glass walls that bring boundless views to your bed. But there’s an equally alluring charm to the Spyglass suites, for their bespoke, tube-like shape and secluded setting between the canopies.
Poolside
Far-reaching valley views make for a scenic lap partner at the outdoor, infinity-like swimming pool (open from 8am to 10pm). And around its edge, cushy loungers come soaked in the Texan sun.
Spa
There’s no formal spa at Onera Wimberley, but your private terrace makes for an enticing treatment spot — just give staff some notice, and they’ll be happy to arrange it. If you’re all loved up and not yet ready to part, there’s a couples’ treatment room in the spa tent, which is a few minutes’ walk down the road.
Packing tips
Your adventurous side: this state’s natural beauty isn’t just your view, it’s your playground, too.
Pet‐friendly
Two pups are welcome to join you in any of these Fido-friendly treehouses for a one-off fee of $99 each. See more pet-friendly hotels in Wimberley.
Children
Welcome; there aren’t any dedicated facilities for tots, but this treehouse-like setting will be sure to bring out their delight.
Sustainability efforts
Earth-kind considerations were pivotal during Onera Wimberley’s development, with each stilted suite built along the hill’s natural contours to ensure endemic flora and fauna continue to thrive. The Greenhouse rooms rest under a vegetated rooftop, which is kept lush with recycled water from the showers; furnishings are built from the nearby creek’s fallen cypress trees, and everything runs on sustainably sourced energy. There’s air-conditioning, but rooms are well insulated to minimise its use; and although water bottles are still plastic, there are in-the-works plans to replace them with reusable alternatives.
