Our favourite rooms

All rooms at Molum Hotel & Residences come with a private balcony or terrace, but it’s worth opting for a sea view, where the Adriatic becomes your ever-present backdrop. For more space and flexibility, the residences are the way to go, with self-catering set-ups that suit longer stays or anyone keen to dip in and out of hotel life on their own terms.

Poolside

In keeping with the rest of the hotel, the pool scene is clean-lined and contemporary, with two generously sized adults-only pools forming the heart of the terrace, edged by neat rows of loungers and striped parasols. Off to one side, there’s a dedicated children’s pool with floaties and waterslides.

Spa

At Noku Spa, the focus is on slow, sensory unwinding, whether that’s drifting between the Finnish sauna, steam bath and hot tub, or settling in for grape-infused wine therapy. Treatments lean into Mediterranean ingredients and mood-lifting aromatherapy, with everything from collagen-boosting facials to herbal Pinda and relaxing candle massages. The gym is kitted out with TRX bands, treadmills, bikes and ellipticals, plus guided programmes if you’re feeling particularly energetic — though the pace here tends to favour balance over bootcamp.

Packing tips

A soft holdall beats a structured suitcase as you’ll likely be in and out of boats more than you expect.

Also

If you’re sailing in under your own steam, Molum Marine Club can arrange nearby berthing and take care of your onward transfer.

Pet‐friendly

Small dogs (weighing under 10 kilogrammes) are welcome to stay in any room for €25 a night, and €75 a stay if checking into the residences. See more pet-friendly hotels in Dalmatian Coast.

Children

All ages welcome. The residences are especially well suited to families.

Best for

Water babies of every age will have the most fun here.

Recommended rooms

Go for one of the Garden Premium Residences, to spread out across two bedrooms, a fully kitted-out kitchen and private garden.

Crèche

Open daily, the kids' club is a bright, well-thought-out space where days are filled with everything from treasure hunts and mini Olympics to creative workshops and eco-themed activities — all wrapped up in a cheerful, well-supervised setting for ages four and up.

Activities

There’s plenty to keep little ones occupied, from soft play to video games and relaxed film screenings (popcorn included).

Swimming pool

A shallow, dedicated children’s pool sits alongside the main pool, fitted with slides and water features next to a playground. It’s open from 7am to 8pm, but with no lifeguard on duty, little Smiths will need supervising.

Meals

Under-fours enjoy breakfast for free, and the residences’ kitchens keep mealtimes flexible.

No need to pack

No need to overpack — simply ask if anything extra is needed.

Sustainability efforts

At Molum Hotel & Residences, a low-impact approach shapes both design and day-to-day operations, from energy-efficient systems and LED lighting to materials chosen to sit naturally within the landscape. Native planting, recycling and reduced energy use are all at play, alongside a restaurant that favours seasonal sourcing and keeps a close eye on food waste.

Food and Drink

Top Table

Go for a terrace table, where the sea breeze and shifting light do as much for the mood as what's on the plate.

Dress Code

Dress like you’ve just docked for dinner — relaxed linens in sun-faded tones should do the trick.

Hotel restaurant

At Maisa Restaurant, dining is a relaxed, terrace-set affair where Dalmatian flavours lead the way, reworked with a light, contemporary touch. Dishes lean into the region, including tuna tartare and sea bass ceviche, plus lamb with local herbs and truffle-laced risottos come autumn. It’s all designed for lingering, with sociable meals stretching easily from lunch into late evening.

Hotel bar

Mur Pool Bar is the hotel’s easy-going epicentre, with loungers never far from reach. Each one is fitted with a QR code so you can order rosemary-infused mules and homemade iced tea without moving a muscle.

Room service

Dine from the comfort of your balcony or terrace during kitchen hours.

Address
Molum Hotel & Residences
Jadranska cesta 61
Sveti Filip i Jakov
23207
Croatia

At Molum Hotel & Residences, you’re practically on the seafront in Sveti Filip i Jakov, a low-key Dalmatian village, with a direct path to the beach and views out across the Adriatic.

Planes

Molum Hotel & Residences is around a 30-minute drive from Zadar Airport. Hotel-arranged transfers cost €80 for up to four passengers or €110 for up to eight. Split Airport is around two hours’ drive from the hotel.

Automobiles

You won’t strictly need a car — the village setting and seafront position make it easy to potter locally — but having one opens up the wider Dalmatian Coast and nearby islands. There's private outdoor parking at the hotel for €12 a day, with electric-vehicle charging stations and valet parking.

Other

You can also approach this stretch of coast by sea: regular ferries connect nearby Biograd na Moru with islands such as Pašman and Ugljan, and private boat or water-taxi transfers can be arranged along the shoreline.

Worth getting out of bed for

Days around Molum Hotel & Residences tend to unfold at sea or deep in the Dalmatian hinterland. Boat trips are the main event, whether you’re cruising the Kornati archipelago, dropping anchor at the white-sand sweep of Sakarun Beach on Dugi Otok, or island-hopping between Pašman, Galešnjak and the smaller, sleepier islets nearby. There’s plenty to draw you inland too: wine and olive oil tastings at historic estates in Ravni Kotari, cycling and birdwatching in the Vrana Lake Nature Park. Head to the Zrmanja River Canyon for kayaking and rafting, or Paklenica National Park for hiking trails over rugged mountains and alpine grasslands. Further afield, Krka and Plitvice Lakes deliver Croatia’s headline waterfalls, which are well worth the day trip.

Local restaurants

Bistro Andrija is a laidback local favourite right by the water, where the focus is on fresh, simply prepared seafood and seasonal Dalmatian ingredients.

Local bars

It’s worth setting aside an afternoon (or two) to meet some of Zadar Country’s passionate winemakers, who cultivate vineyards in the karst land of Smilčić and the rolling hills above Korlat. Book in with nearby Korlat Winery for structured tastings of bold, characterful reds in a high-altitude setting, or call ahead to organic Škaulj Winery for an intimate, family-run experience centred on local varieties.

Anonymous review

Every hotel featured is visited personally by members of our team, given the Smith seal of approval, and then anonymously reviewed. As soon as our reviewers have returned from this contemporary Adriatic abode on the Dalmatian Coast and unpacked their marina-ready linen and deck shoes, a full account of their shoreline-hugging stay will be with you. In the meantime, to whet your wanderlust, here's a quick peek inside Molum Hotel & Residences in Croatia…

The line between land and sea feels pleasantly blurred at Molum Hotel & Residences. This polished Adriatic resort pairs crisp, contemporary design with a distinctly nautical mindset — helped along by its own Marine Club on the Pašman Channel, where elegant vessels come and go, and island plans are made on a whim. Devote yourself to the cabana-lined pool or explore what's beyond the promenade: the Kornati, Dugi Otok and a scatter of smaller isles are all within easy reach.

Back at the family-friendly base, residences offer the space (and independence) to settle in properly, whether for a long weekend or something more extended. It’s a place that invites you to dip in and out — of the water, the region, and routine — with just enough structure to keep everything plain sailing.
