Lelapa Lodge has four dedicated 100sq m family suites, each with a large, peaceful viewing deck, private plunge pool and alfresco shower. These suites have two bedrooms: the master bedroom with a king-size bed and lounge area and a room for kids aged up to 16. These bedrooms have bunk-beds, toys, books and games, and mini bathrobes and slippers – kids get hot-chocolate at turndown, too (plus some more surprises). Two extra beds for little Smiths can be added on request: children aged five and under stay free, and 6-to-15 year-olds stay for a charge (which varies depending on the time of year). The bathroom has twin sinks, a walk-in shower and an egg-shaped bath tub, and all suites have a fireplace, minibar, air-conditioning, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and free WiFi.

This is the hotel’s second adults-only (over-16s) lodge, with just four romantic suites for intimate stays. Each 100sq m suite has a large private viewing deck with a plunge pool and alfresco shower – Dithaba is built into a hillside in the bush, so it’s likely you’ll see some wild goings-on. The king-size bed looks out over the landscape too, and there’s a lounge area and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, twin sinks and egg-shaped bath tub – also with views of the savannah.
