Huka Lodge

Lodge Rooms consist of light, spacious, comfortable and cosy room containing a Super King bed and a lounge area and writing desk. Immediately off there is a large walk through dressing room as well as a beautifully detailed ensuite bathroom including bath, shower, twin basins and under-floor heating. Mini-bar and tea and coffee facilities are also available. French doors open out to an outdoor wooden deck at the front of each Lodge Room with views across the lawn to the deep turquoise green, hypnotic waters of the beautiful Waikato River.

There are four superbly decorated spacious bedrooms all with super King-size beds, magnificent ensuite bathrooms, generous walk-through dressing rooms and their own gas fireplace. Two of the rooms face the river while the other two enjoy a beautiful private courtyard garden aspect featuring an outdoor fireplace. All the bedrooms are anchored by a central open-plan living room; dining area comprising the heart of the Cottage, with a magnificent stone fireplace for blazing log fires. The interior design is sophisticated and elegant – designed to allow full appreciation of the extraordinarily beautiful views of the Waikato River. A well-equipped kitchen is set up for a personal chef, and butler service complements this. The Den has a workstation, computer, plasma flat screen television and DVD player, and a cosy fireplace. A large outdoor deck extends seamlessly from the living room until it meets the amazing cantilevered infinity pool. The beautifully manicured grounds of The Owner’s Cottage also feature a private heated Spa Pool overlooking the Waikato River. This Cottage is situated approximately 200 metres to the North of the main Lodge buildings and also has it’s own gated vehicle entrance. The Owner’s Cottage is sold on an exclusive use basis, irrespective of how many rooms are occupied.

The recently opened Alan Pye Cottage has two large and stylishly appointed bedrooms each with a Super King-size bed and it’s own gas fireplace and walk-through dressing room leading to the beautifully appointed ensuite bathrooms beyond. The bedrooms have French doors that open up to either a private enclosed lawn garden with beautifully tended flower beds or onto a wooden deck where the heated infinity pool blends seamlessly into the deep turquoise green, hypnotic waters of the magnificent Waikato River beyond. Each bedroom is separated by a magnificent sitting room with a dining area. This room has vaulted ceilings with skylights, a wood-burning fireplace and has divinely comfortable sofas and lounging chairs, accented with down-filled pillows, rustic antique furniture enhanced by the many museum quality Maori artefacts on display. The eclectic combination is sophisticated and stunning. A personal chef, s well as butler service, is available to Cottage guests and there is a fully equipped kitchen available to facilitate this. A study with desk, plasma flat screen television and sound system can also be used to accommodate an additional guest should this be required. It also has it’s own ensuite bathroom. A private elevated outdoor Spa Pool and fabulous stone outdoor pavilion with fireplace completes the features of the Cottage. The Alan Pye Cottage is situated approximately 200 metres along the path to the South of the main Lodge buildings and also has it’s own gated vehicle entrance. The The Alan Pye Cottage is sold on an exclusive use basis, irrespective of how many rooms are occupied.
