These simple, white-walled rooms have a queen-size bed, a writing surface for budding novelists and a bathroom. Some are located directly on the lively South Congress Avenue, so book room 17 or 36 if you’re after peace and quiet – both are positioned at the back of the property.

A more spacious option than the standard rooms, the Grand Standards are located in the central courtyard building, away from the main road, and come with a queen-size bed and shared patio. The decor is in keeping with the hotel’s less-is-more character, with vintage posters decorating the white walls and grey wool rugs on the floor.

Located in the Courtyard Building, these rooms are similar to the Grand Standard yet contain two queen-size beds and are kitted out with huge arched windows. These rooms are ideal for families and are simply decorated, with white walls pepped up with vintage posters.

Located in the original tourist court wings, these white and simply decorated rooms have a cosy day-bed adjacent to the sleeping area. Most of these rooms also have a private patio attached. If you book this room type, try to get suite 15, 16, 24 or 25, as they are furthest from the street noise.

Located in the courtyard building, these beautiful, airy rooms have high ceilings, a day-bed, and a porch that overlooks the pool and garden. The decor is understated and minimalist, with Indian paisley-stitched cushions and simple white walls and sheets. Suite 40 is wheelchair accessible and has an outdoor patio.

Located in the courtyard building, the Courtyard King Studio is 418 square feet with poolside and courtyard views. Room has a king bed, Texas reclaimed pine writing surface and shared patio area.

These spacious suites are located at the back of the property next to the Zen garden. Because they sit near Congress Avenue, guests may hear some street noise. However, the decor, which is simply styled with white walls, Indian paisley stitched cushions and views of the courtyard from the day-bed, is sufficiently soothing.
