Hotel Esencia

Set privately aside from the main hotel on a jungly 15-acre estate just a short walk from the beach, this colonial-style villa sleeps up to six guests. There are private terraces where guests can socialise, dine alfresco or simply enjoy the peace and quiet – the master suite has two to itself – plus three bedrooms (each with a king-size bed) and ensuite bathrooms (each with a walk-in shower), living room and dining room. A full kitchen has a stove, microwave, fridge, blender and more. Villa guests get waited on by a private butler, chef and waiter, and they get a flatscreen TV, sound-system, iPod dock, Ipod minis preloaded with music, minibar, internet access, and Hotel Esencia signature bath products.

Quiet, cooling Jungle Suites are set in the estate’s tropical gardens, with one king or two queen beds. Whitewashed with wood touches, all have walk-in closets, in-room double bathtubs, HD TVs and a sound system that connects to digital devices. Outside, there's a private terrace and seating area.

Ideal for families or groups, this four-bedroom 930sq m villa has three swimming pools set within secluded gardens, a five-minute walk from the main hotel. On the third floor, you'll find the master suite with an office room, a large bedroom with a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, freestanding bath tub, twin sinks and an indoor/outdoor plunge pool. Opposite the master bedroom, there's a private fitness studio with state-of-the-art equipment, including a Woodway treadmill and Pent Fitness weight set. The top floor also has a vast rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, sunloungers and alfresco dining spaces that overlook the jungle canopies. Two junior suites occupy the floor below, each with a king-size bed, private terrace, walk-in closets, a shared studio lounge and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, a freestanding bath tub and twin sinks. The fourth bedroom is best for children (or if you're travelling without little Smiths, ideal for your 24-hour on demand butler). Downstairs, there's a fully equipped kitchen with a private chef (on request); a breakfast terrace; a connecting living room with a wet bar; a smaller lounger, and large sliding doors that open out onto a dining terrace that overlooks the villa's largest ceramic pool, a few steps below. There's also a private screening room that seats up to 20 and a fully stocked underground speakeasy bar with a hidden entrance. Three of the bedrooms and a few shared areas can also accommodate an extra rollaway bed.

These brand new 102sq m suites are set across two floors of the property's tallest building offering sweeping jungle views and close proximity to the beach. Awarded Wellness Star of the Year Award by Forbes Travel Guide, they feature a private fitness studio off the master bedroom which include a virtual personal trainer, a Peloton bike, TRX equipment, or a Technogym treadmill upon request (set up charges apply). There's also yoga mats, a Technogym weight set, and a steam room/shower with essential oils aromatherapy for cooling down after your workout. On the spacious rooftop terrace, you'll find a private heated pool, solarium and an outdoor dining area. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed with a comfortable seating area and a walk-in closet, while over in the all-white master bathrooms, there's double showers, dual vanities and a standalone bath tub. These suites also include wide-screen WiFi-connected TVs, air conditioning, Bluetooth speakers, and all of Hotel Esencia’s signature amenities. Extra beds and baby cots can be added upon request. These suites can also be connected to a Jungle Suite with Plunge Pool for larger groups.

These elevated, approx 87-100sq m suites have the feel of a private apartment. Centrally located and just steps from the beach, each Master Jungle suite has its own extra-large plunge pool immersed in thick jungle foliage. In the grand master bedroom, there's a king-size bed. These suites have either a second bedroom or separate living room/office space that can easily be transformed into an extra sleeping room. There are spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas as well as walk-in closets, large screen WiFi-connected televisions, digitally-connected sound systems, air conditioning, and all of Hotel Esencia’s signature amenities. In the large master bathrooms, you'll find double bath tubs and an optional steam shower. These double occupancy suites can accommodate up to 5 guests at an additional charge.

Created by an Italian Duchess, the first owner of the building, the Esencia suite is the crown jewel of the Main House. Designed with space and comfort in mind, the lower-lever terrace faces a canopy of lush jungle greens, while the rooftop terrace boasts 360-degree views of Xpu-Ha beach and verdant treetops. There's also an extra-large rooftop plunge pool, a sheltered outdoor living area, sunbeds and a space for al-fresco entertaining with a 20-person capacity. Indoors, you'll find a master bedroom with a king-size bed and superb ocean views, a domed living area and a light-drenched master bathroom with a double bath tub and steam shower. Elsewhere in the suite, you'll find a reading den (that can be made into a second sleeping area) with both jungle and ocean views, a second full guest bathroom and a Peloton bike. For a Presidential Suite experience, this suite was conceived to easily connect with one or two Master Suites, taking over the entire north wing of our Main House. Plus, there's walk-in closets, large screen WiFi-connected televisions, sound systems that connect to iPhones and other digital accessories, air conditioning, and all of Hotel Esencia’s signature amenities. These double occupancy suites can accommodate up to 5 guests at an additional charge.

Beach Suites sit 20 meters from the water, with unobstructed sea views. For the ultimate beach experience, they have a private terrace that leads to the sand. Set right on the golden sands of the Xpu Ha Beach, these two romantic 115sq m suites each have sea views and a private heated plunge pool: surrounded by a terrace with in-built seating for the lower-level suite; tucked away by a double-sized walk-in shower in the upper suite. There’s also a super-soft king-size bed, a walk-in closet and a large bathroom with a love seat, plus a bath tub steps from the bed.
