These 350sq ft ocean-facing rooms are on the first floor, putting them close to the 400-million-year-old rocks of the Back Western Shore. Each light-flooded room is modern yet steeped in local heritage: the king-size bed (which can be separated into two singles on request) is topped with a handmade patchwork quilt (a staple on Fogo Island), and the furnishings and artwork were produced locally. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower. All rooms have free WiFi, an iPod dock and Bose sound system, white noise machine and Ossetra bath products; a flatscreen TV can be added on request. One of the rooms in the East Wing is wheelchair-accessible, featuring a bathroom with extra clearance space, a roll-in shower with a bench seat and grab bars, and a toilet with grab bars.

The Captain’s Quarters; a sublime outport sanctuary; a world onto itself. It is a distinctive two-story corner with a commanding position to the north, east and south; a space like no other and suited for up to three persons.
