These 350sq ft rooms are on the second floor, commanding loftier views of the Atlantic and spray-soaked rocks. Each is flooded with light thanks to a wall of windows, and has a distinctly modern look that pays tribute to Fogo Island’s craftsmen and women. In each, the king-size bed (which can be separated into two singles on request) is topped with a handmade patchwork quilt (a staple on the island), and all the furnishings and artwork were produced locally. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower. All rooms have free WiFi, an iPod dock and Bose sound system, white noise machine and Ossetra bath products; a flatscreen TV can be added on request.

Also known as the ‘architects rooms’, these 350sq ft rooms have the loftiest views in the hotel, offering a seabird's-eye view of the Atlantic and the wave-lapped rocks that fringe the hotel. Each is flooded with light thanks to vast windows, and has a distinctly modern look that pays tribute to Fogo Island's long-standing craft traditions. In each, the king-size bed (which can be separated into two singles on request) is topped with a handmade patchwork quilt (a staple on the island), and all the furnishings and artwork were produced locally. There’s also a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The soaring ceilings and drama of the 4th floor “skysuites” give a deep sense of oneness with the sky; these are places for up to two persons to pause and wonder - at the unexpected behavior of light where this powerful landscape meets an even more powerful seascape -at the very edge of the North Atlantic. These suites are steps away from the rooftop lounge (a great place for stargazing) and our Northern European style rooftop sauna. The 4th floor Newfoundland suites have a walk-in shower and wood stove.
