It seems daring to assign an apartment on arrival, but you can’t go wrong: all of Casacau’s six residences are tastefully outfitted in vintage wares, original artwork and quirky knick-knacks, and each has a kitchenette (digital stove, kettle, Moka coffee machine, cutlery, tableware, cookbooks, biscotti and pasta; a mini fridge with milk, butter, eggs, yoghurts and bottled water); air-conditioning; and an Olivetti typewriter. Balcony-blessed Apartment 2 (69sq m) is Seventies-style, with a jade kitchenette, Chinoiserie mirrors and a Monet-esque headboard in the master bedroom; the bathroom has a steam shower too. 34sq m Apartment 3 has a small sauna and an array of furnishings crafted from natural materials. Apartment 4 (49sq m) has a dusky-rose and dove-grey bedroom with an art installation-cum-bed, a steam shower and industrial accents. 48sq m Apartment 5 has a fresco at the head of the bed and a steam shower, and Apartment 6 (57sq m) sleeps up to three adults and has a unique indoor terrace accessed through a closet. Big and bright, Apartment 4 (49sqm) has a marble-chip floor with sections of cement inlay, a lavish double bed-cum-art installation, and vintage knick knacks. The living area is furnished with elegant contemporary pieces – some with with statement gold accents – and there’s an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a cement table by Martin Bachmann. The kitchen has everything you need, including a digital stove, kettle, coffee machine, cutlery, tableware, cookbooks, biscotti and pasta; the mini fridge is filled with milk, butter, eggs, yoghurts and bottled water.
