When to go

Things switch from impressive to formidable in the months of October–March, when the (always hot) temperatures soar above 40 degrees, with hard-to-bear humidity thrown in to boot. The wet season also stars terrifying lightning claps and thunderbolts; all things considered, it’s best to come between April and September, when the searing heat relents and the Last Frontier feels a tad less final…
