When to go

Tarangire National Park has potential for safaris throughout the year, except from mid-March to mid-May, when most camps close due to heavy rains. July to October is dry, mild and your best bet for prime game viewing.

Getting there

  Connections from Kilimanjaro, Arusha or Dar Es Salaam airports arrive at Kuro Airstrip, about an hour’s drive from the park. Your chosen safari stay can arrange road and air transfers for you.

• Automobiles

  Driving is best left to your safari guides and camp hosts.
