Luxury holidays in Tarangire National Park

Thick with baobab and rich with wildlife, Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania is a quiet, remote alternative to everyone’s-favourite Serengeti. It’s named after the river that winds across its scenic terrain, providing water for big cats, elephants, kudu and hundreds of bird species. Safaris take many forms here: walking, driving, nighttime, hot-air balloon; each offering a unique insight into this conservation-proud region.

When to go

Tarangire National Park has potential for safaris throughout the year, except from mid-March to mid-May, when most camps close due to heavy rains. July to October is dry, mild and your best bet for prime game viewing.
