Luxury holidays in Sodermalm

Södermalm, AKA Söder to the locals, is Stockholm’s creative hub. Katarina Church’s baroque spires rise above cobbled streets lined with minimalist design shops and indie staples, including vinyl stores, quirky galleries and bars peddling craft beers. Walk Monteliusvägen for sweeping city views, scour vintage markets for hidden treasures, linger in cafés debating the merits of cinnamon rolls, or dip into the exhibition du jour at Fotografiska Museum.

When to go

In winter, the city sees just five hours of daylight, becoming a snowy wonderland. Summer is the season of seafood and schnapps, though July quiets as locals retreat to island homes and restaurants close.
