When to go

Late spring to early autumn brings the mildest temperatures for hiking, biking and boating your way through Staffordshire's pastoral pockets. Its towns and cities are particularly quaint and cosy during December.

Getting there

  • Planes

Manchester is Staffordshire’s nearest international airport; East Midlands Airport is slightly further away. If you’re landing into any of London’s landing strips (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton or Stansted), you’ll be around two to three hours away by car.
  • Trains

Stafford Station is the region’s main hub, with daily direct routes to London Euston, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Crewe.
  • Automobiles

If you’re visiting one of Staffordshire’s bigger cities, a car won’t be necessary; but those on rural sojourns will require a set of wheels.
