When to go

Srinagar does not have a proper monsoon season, so effectively has two seasons: winter and summer. The best time to visit is from April to October, when the valleys are covered in flowers.

  Srinagar International Airport, also known as Sheikh ul Alam Airport, is the hub for Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

  The nearby lakes are full of traditional wooden boats that you can hop on to make your way around the waterways.

  Udhampur Railway Station, a seven-hour drive from Srinagar, is the nearest major railroad station.
