Temperatures are at their best between June and September. If you’re hoping to escape the summer crowds, visit during early October when the days are still warm and the beaches a little emptier.
Getting there
Planes
Fly direct to Lanzarote’s international airport along the island’s cerulean south-east coast, then take a taxi or rent a car to get around.
Boats
If you’re landing on another island or simply looking for a more picturesque way to reach Lanzarote, then take a half-an-hour ferry from Fuerteventura or a (slightly longer) six-hour ferry from Gran Canaria to the island’s port, Arrecife.
Automobiles
Ferries from neighbouring islands often allow cars, or if you’re flying direct you can rent a car once you land in Lanzarote and spend your days zipping between the region’s sunbleached beaches.
