When to go
July and August are the hottest months of the year – temperatures peak at 38°C – but the latter is prime holiday time for Spanish mainlanders, so expect more visitors. Daytime temperatures from May to June and September to November hover around 28°C, and nights are refreshingly cooler.
PlanesAll seven major Canary Islands have airports; most direct international flights (and those from mainland Spain) land at Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma.

AutomobilesHaving your own set of wheels is ideal for exploring the islands; the most scenic routes are best enjoyed when you can spontaneously stop for a longer look.
