Dry season in Puerto Cayo is between July and November, when temperatures average 26°C. If you don’t mind a little rain (and humidity), then December to June can be quieter with temperatures reaching 35°C.
Getting there
Planes
Fly into Ecuador’s international Quito airport, where you’ll have to take a connecting flight to the Eloy Alfaro hub in Manabí. Once you arrive, hop in a taxi or rental car and drive for around an hour and a half to Puerto Cayo.
Automobiles
The town’s small size means a car isn’t vital, but if you’re hoping to explore further afield then the airport has a number of rental options.
