When to go

The Langhe is a region where the in-between seasons shine: autumn visits are marked by grape harvests, truffle fairs and wine tastings; spring sees flowering vineyards and prime hiking conditions.

Getting there

  • Planes

Turin’s airport is the closest to the Langhe region at 90 minutes’ drive, but you could also touch down in Genoa or at Milan Malpensa, which are each closer to two hours away by road.
  • Trains

Alba is the main rail hub for the area, with direct routes and connections arriving from Turin and Milan.
  • Automobiles

Wheels come in handy for taking in the region’s epicurean destinations — just make sure you have a designated driver for any vineyard tours.
