The Southern Highlands are a year-round destination, however, most of the area's events take place in spring and autumn, including calendar highlight, the Tulip Time Festival.
Getting there
Planes
International flights touch down at Sydney Airport, from where it’s a 90-minute drive to the Highlands. Alternatively, some domestic connections land in Canberra, which is just under two hours away by road.
Trains
You can get to Moss Vale — gateway station to the Southern Highlands — from Sydney’s Central Station in under two hours direct.
Automobiles
The area is well connected with buses and trains, but if you plan on visiting some of the more remote areas of the Highlands, a set of wheels will come in handy.
