Luxury holidays in Peguera

Avert your gaze as you pass the turn-off for Magaluf, and if you hit the super-yacht-studded harbour of Port d’Andratx, you’ve gone too far. It’s laidback-and-local town Peguera we’re after, in Mallorca’s southeastern corner. Its cala-contoured coastline makes for siren-worthy swimming spots; reel in seafood paella and sea-gazing sundowners along its beachfront promenade.

When to go

Mallorca swells in the summertime — with heat and school-holiday crowds. Hit the isle in quieter months, such as October or May, to soak up still-warm temperatures and have its pristine shores all to yourself.

Getting there

  • Planes

Peguera is a 35-minute drive from Palma’s international airport.
  • Automobiles

Cove-tucked Peguera is within walking distance from several beaches, but wheels come in handy if you plan to venture further afield: Port d’Andratx is a 15-minute drive; Palma is just over half an hour away, and Tramuntana-favourite Valdemossa is 45 minutes by car.
