When to go

In the height of summer, soaring temperatures can make strolling around Madrid a challenge. Both the heat and crowds will be more manageable in spring and autumn.

Getting there

  • Planes

    Madrid–Barajas Airport is between 30 minutes' to an hour’s drive from Centro.
  • Trains

    Services run from Barcelona, Málaga, Seville and more to Madrid Atocha railway station, on Centro’s southern edge. There are several Metro stops in Centro, too, including Sol and Gran Vía.
  • Automobiles

    Centro is a walkable district and well-served by the Metro, so you won’t need to attempt driving here.
