Spring is particularly scenic if you’re looking to admire Jardim da Estrela in bloom, and autumn wins for its cooler temperatures and golden light.

Getting there

  • Planes

    International flights land into Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport, around 20 minutes from Lapa by car. 

  • Trains

    Routes don’t run straight through Lapa, but Tram 28 has stops along the neighbourhood’s Rua de São Domingos à Lapa and its surrounding streets for easy access to Baixa, Chiado, Alfama and Graça. If you’re looking to catch the metro, your nearest stop is Cais do Sodré — around a 30-minute walk away.

  • Automobiles

    With trams and taxis readily available, a car won’t be essential in Lapa. Most central areas of the city are also walkable from your neighbourhood.
