Luxury holidays in Lapa

Leave Lisbon’s bustling Baixa and head west for leafy Lapa, a quiet residential neighbourhood hugged by Estrela and Santos. This part of the city may be slower in pace, but its sights come with cachet. Embellished embassies adorn its hillside streets, and between Jardim da Estrela’s budding patches and baroque churches, you’ll find in-the-know locals hopping from one haunt to the next. Tram 28 also runs right through its middle, when you feel the calling of this city’s historic centre.

When to go

Spring is particularly scenic if you’re looking to admire Jardim da Estrela in bloom, and autumn wins for its cooler temperatures and golden light.
